Hot Fudge Sauce

Hot Fudge Sauce

Try this homemade hot fudge sauce once and you may never go back to a jar again! With a few ingredients it all comes together in about 5 minutes. Stay with it – once you add all of the ingredients to a heavy saucepan, you want to whisk-stir it until it bubbles and cooks. Because it contains milk and to prevent it from burning, continue the whisking and in no time, you have hot fudge sauce.

Begin with a good quality dark chocolate. Choose the brand that you like best. The second most important step in the prep is sifting the confectioners’ sugar in a bowl prior to adding it to the saucepan. This is to prevent any potential sugar lumps, ensuring a smooth creamy sauce. Then, all ingredients are added to the saucepan except for the vanilla. The vanilla is added last.

The sauce also makes a nice jarred gift.
